Benefits of Cold Laser Therapy for Your Pet

By

Benefits of Cold Laser Therapy in Lakewood CA Area
Laser technology has advanced the fields of medicine for both human and animal practices. In terms of veterinary care, cold laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment that can be effective at lowering pain, improving wound healing, and improving joint function. At Bloomfield Animal Clinic in Lakewood, California, we are proud to offer this technology to improve the lives of our pet patients.

How Does Cold Laser Therapy Work?

Cold laser therapy is named as such because the treatment generates no heat when being used. The purpose of the laser is to stimulate the body’s natural healing process to stimulate the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the cell's natural energy to regenerate. In addition to promoting healing, cold laser therapy can also be used to reduce and manage pain.

Benefits of Cold Laser Therapy

  • Reduces pain – Cold laser therapy increases endorphins and stimulates nerve cells to block pain signals from reaching the pain to lower the amount of pain that your pet feels.
  • Improves joint function – Pets with joint issues like arthritis and hip dysplasia can benefit significantly from cold laser therapy. The treatment improves range of motion and reduces pain, leading to an increase in your pet’s activity level.
  • Increases healing – Cold laser therapy increases circulation and stimulates the body’s natural healing process.
  • No downtime – After the quick in-office session, your pet will have no limitations on activity. In fact, many pets will show improvement after just one session.
